Terms of service
Last reviewed: 5 May 2026.
Like Me Like is operated by Yme Bosma from the Netherlands. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
What Like Me Like is
A cross-domain taste-recommendation service. You name something you love — a film, book, song, image, article, or product — and the service returns one or more picks across each of those categories. The recommendations are generated by AI language models (currently Google Gemini and various models routed through OpenRouter) grounded in live web search.
Beta status
The service is in beta. Recommendations can be wrong, surprising, or factually inaccurate. Specifically:
- The model occasionally hallucinates titles, attributions, dates, authors, or URLs. Treat any specific factual claim about a recommendation as a starting hint to verify yourself, not as confirmed fact.
- The service is NOT financial, medical, legal, professional, or purchase advice. Especially for "shop" picks, prices and availability shift, and the listed retailer link is a starting point, not a verified offer.
- Recommendations are based on patterns in language and culture captured by the model's training data, not on any guarantee of quality or fit. Your taste is yours; the model is a guess.
Acceptable use
You may:
- Use the service for personal taste discovery.
- Share Like Me Like links and your public profile page.
- Build on the public catalogue surface (item pages, shareable-profile pages) in ways that respect the rate limits and don't disrupt the service for others.
You may NOT:
- Scrape the recommendation API (POST
/api/recommend*) or any other endpoint at machine-driven volumes intended to bulk- extract content. The hourly rate limit (60 calls per public-key hash) is the operational definition of "too much"; rotating keypairs to bypass it is also a violation. - Submit input designed to extract the system prompt, override the model's instructions, or otherwise manipulate the service into producing harmful, illegal, or copyright-infringing content.
- Use the service to harass, defame, threaten, or otherwise harm others. Submitting another person's identity, contact details, or private images as input is not allowed.
- Submit content you don't have the right to submit (copyright- infringing material, leaked private documents, classified information, etc.).
- Resell, sublicense, or rent access to the service. Direct API access for third-party use is not currently offered; if that changes it'll be a separately-priced product with its own terms.
Content ownership
The recommendations themselves — pick titles, reasoning text, category labels — are AI-generated outputs. We don't claim copyright over them; you can quote, share, or adapt them. The Like Me Like brand, logo, and the codebase are not in the public domain.
If you submit input that is your own creative work and want it kept private, the service is anonymous by design (see Privacy) — your input is stored linked to your anonymous public-key hash, not to your name. Anonymous training events (Track B, opt-in) include the input text without a public-key hash, so don't enable Track B if you're submitting work you want to keep entirely private.
No warranty
The service is provided AS IS, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, availability, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, in no event will the operator (Yme Bosma) be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.
For direct damages, the operator's aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the incident giving rise to the liability — which, for a free-tier user, is €0.
Termination
You can stop using the service at any time. To wipe your data, use Settings → "Delete my account". The operator may suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these terms, with no prior notice required for clear violations (scraping, abuse, illegal content) and reasonable notice for unclear cases.
Changes to these terms
Material changes will be reflected in the "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after a change indicates acceptance.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of the service will be brought before the competent court in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence allow you to choose your local court.
